Release Me and Let Me Go

OK. I know I mentioned on my last post that my release date will be November 23rd. That was some very wishful thinking.

I've recently connected with a great mentor and he explained to me that there is more to setting a CD Release date than just getting the finished product and announcing it. I need to consider my first single and release that first. Then possibly a second single. Then the full CD.

I also need to consider servicing the various media outlets. Those outlets want advance copies of the songs months before the CD is released. My God. There is a lot to learn but I believe in this project and I want to do it right.

So, I'm taking a step back and planning my release dates in the context of a comprehensive marketing campaign. That just sounds cool! I'll figure out what it means later.

In the mean time, I am preparing to release my first single. It will most likely be "I Look Like My Father". I have gotten overwhelming responses on that song when I sang it at different churches and venues. I'm believing that this song will be a blessing to thousands; as will the other songs on the CD.

So, thank you again for your love and support. Keep us in your prayers because we are going for it.

Peace and Favor upon you and your loved ones.

Moving Forward

One of my favorite songs of all time is "Moving Forward" by Israel Houghton and Ricardo Sanchez. The song simply says that I'm not going back but I'm moving ahead. The past is over.

That's like a life declaration. We can look in the past and wonder "why", or we can look to the future and say "it shall be".

It's interesting that when God puts a vision in your heart, it never dies. A goal might die, and hope might die, but a vision from God never dies.

God put a vision in my heart that my songs will be ministered all over the world by me and by other artists. That dream is burning even stronger in me now.

I must move forward. I have no choice. I will see the vision come to pass, if it takes the rest of my life.

I'm not going back, I'm moving ahead. I'm here to declare to you, my past is over. In you, all things are made new. Surrendered my life to Christ. I'm moving, moving, forward.

Keep me in your prayers!

Release date is set for November 23rd!

Long Time No See

I have to say, it has been a looong time since I posted to my blog.  I've gone through some stuff over the past two years.  However, I can say that I'm still standing and more importantly, still smiling.

This business of becoming a successful Christian artist is much harder than I thought.  However, I'm continuing to move forward.  Hopefully I'll get to share some of the experiences on future blogs.  For now, suffice it to say that I've had to learn the hard lessons of humility and patience.  Anyone who has taken those classes know that those are more difficult than trigonometry.  I'm happy to say that I finally passed both classes!!!  I'm sure God has some advanced classes waiting on me but I'm going to celebrate my passing of these basic courses for now!

Also, I'm glad to announce that we are finishing the last song for the CD.  I'm setting an official release date of November 23, 2012 which happens to be my birthday.  The official release of my first CD will be an awesome birthday present and I hope the CD will be a blessing to you and your family.

Until next time, remember, God gives grace to the humble.
